Testimonials from Yoga For Life
Yoga Teacher Training Students:
Abby Schwab has developed a comprehensive 200
Hour Yoga study program. The program is
structured such that several types of learning
take place. The class is designed to focus on
the mind/body/spirit connection and the idea
that Yoga is a way of life that is to be taken
off the mat. Thus, what is learned on the mat
is a model for living a life of mindfulness and
of recognizing your own and other’s inner being.
Each weekend is full of learning opportunities
both technically and spiritually. Abby
understands what the individuals in the class
need and what the class as a whole requires.
She takes that knowledge and integrates it into
her teaching style.
In completing the training, I will emerge a
technically competent Yoga teacher, but more
importantly, I will emerge knowing and trusting
my inner divine spirit.

When I first started Yoga For Life I was fearful
of investing the time and money, that it might not
be the right experience for my physical body. I am
now experiencing much greater strength both
physically and emotionally.
I am learning from all of the other students
coming from all walks of life that we are all
capable, to purse a more spiritual path with inner
wisdom and knowledge.
The practice of breathing (prananyama), postures
(asanas) and meditation (dhyana) are leading me to a
more grounded and purposeful life.
Thank you to Abby and Sandra for their wisdom,
guided knowledge, and insight into the practice of
Yoga For Life. -MT
Walking in for
the first time, I had some reservations and fears.
Those feelings were immediately gone as I, and the
11 other beautiful women entered the candlelit
space. What Abby and Sandra created from this very
first experience was a warm, safe and comfortable
place to practice, learn and grow. I am so thrilled
that I made the commitment to this journey and look
forward to each and every weekend that we meet.
From the
practice teach sessions, posture clinics, and guest
teachers to our special, daily sahdanas, every
moment of the time that we spend together is truly a
blessing and a gift. Abby and Sandra give so much to
us and it is humbly appreciated. With eagerness for
more, I await each meeting with the excitement of a
child and the patience of a true yogini. -MI
"Yoga for life has been an incredible
experience for me. Not only has it given me
the opportunity to explore my own personal
yoga practice, it has also given me the
chance to broaden my knowledge of yoga and
meditation. The mixture of self-discovery
and group work has provided a unique way of
grasping the material being taught. Abby
and Sandra are amazing teachers, full of
information to share; they are also great
friends and confidants who have opened their
time and hearts to help us on this journey.
I have made lifelong friends during this
training. I look forward to the weekends we
spend together. I could not ask for a
better experience thus far on this journey
and I am looking forward to what is to
come!" -JA
The Yoga For Life Teacher Training
Class is so much more than I
imagined. Abby and Sandra have
created a learning environment that
is instructive, loving, and
non-judgmental. I joyfully look
forward to each weekend in the Yoga
for Life "bubble", with my fellow
yoginis. Our practices and sessions
crackle with information, energy and
fun, or may be deep, resonant and
peaceful. I feel comfortable and
supported as I question, explore,
and develop my yoga practice and my
yoga teaching style. As I learn and
grow, considering postures, anatomy,
spirituality and possibilities, Yoga
For Life has become not only a
teacher training experience, but an
exploration of my own true self.

I signed up with
the goal of becoming a certified
Hatha yoga instructor.
Furthering my
personal practice would, I thought,
be an added benefit. What I got for
my money has been nothing short of
transformative. Yoga for Life's 200
hour teacher training is one of the
best investments I've ever made; the
certificate is the most tangible
return, but it's the wealth of
knowledge I gained about yoga,
myself, and life that is invaluable.

The instructors are incredibly
knowledgeable and supportive.

I was lucky enough to
discover Abby Schwab almost four
years ago when I snuck away from
my studio to take a yoga class.
I needed something and I think
the universe knew that I would
find it with her.
It took no time for the two
of us to develop a mutual
respect and I was thrilled when
she agreed to teach with me at
my club. Abby has opened a door
to a very special place for me
and my entire membership and
when she told me she was
creating YFL I told her I would
be the first to enroll even
though I had no intention of
teaching yoga! The prospect of
learning whatever she had to
teach was, again, something the
universe was leading me
towards. Her unique qualities
inspire, motivate and instill a
quest for knowledge in everyone
she meets.
Make no mistake about it, YFL
is a commitment. There’s
Sanskrit to learn, philosophy to
ponder, anatomy to understand
and in my opinion the most
important piece is the study of
self and it’s relationship to
yoga and the world. YFL is
without a doubt the safest
environment to begin this
amazing challenge.
If you want to learn what
yoga really is, if you want to
begin a journey towards a better
sense of self and if at the same
you want to start building the
necessary foundation needed to
become a great yoga teacher
register for this training, you
will not be disappointed.
I am almost half-way though
YFL and already I’ve become a
better teacher after twenty-five
years! My mind is being
challenged, my heart is opening,
my life is changing and who
knows I may even teach yoga
someday after all!
