Workshops

Arm Balance Workshop

Come experience a playful practice using the body’s breath, power and spirit to lift you up in new ways – literally! We will be exploring a variety of arm balances and inversions. Bring a sense of humor and spirit of adventure.

Restorative Yoga Workshop

The Restorative Yoga Workshop offers a deeply nourishing environment to promote “active relaxation” and stress reduction.  Restorative Yoga is very gentle introspective practice, which combines gentle yoga poses with restorative postures to alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance.  The restorative postures are held with the support of various props. The props provide support for deep relaxation and the sequence will move the spine in all directions.  One gains mental relief from daily stress and is nurtured through the mind/body connection.   No previous yoga experience is required.

Yoga Trance Dance

Combining what she calls "two of the oldest ways (to get) back home," Shiva Rea, the creator of Yoga Trance Dance, has mixed dance and yoga to create "a contemporary exploration of conscious movement meditation”.  Whereas vinyasa yoga is essentially a series of flowing, connected poses, incorporating breath and movement here the movement is within the poses themselves, not just within the overall sequence.  Trance Dance enters the flow of your yoga experience with this liberating joyful dance exploring inner power, creativity, fluidity of the spine, and natural movement.  Meanwhile, Trance Dance encourages spontaneous, free-form movement, cultivating heat, strength, flexibility, and balance In the words of the dancing mystic, Hafiz, “Now sweet one, be wise. Cast all your votes for dancing.”

Partner Yoga Workshop

Double your fun and join us for a light-hearted evening learning yoga postures done with a partner. This class is for partners, be they couples, family, friend, or someone else. Partner yoga consists of postures, breath work, and meditation, - but with a bit of a twist (sometimes literally!). Poses are done back-to-back, side-by-side, and facing each other; while you mirror, support, and balance each other, and co-create your postures. Communication, expression, and fun are key to this class so don't be afraid to talk, laugh, and even fall over! Suitable for all levels of yoga experience.
